WASHINGTON – Domestic tensions have begun to emerge in the United States over the war between Israel and Hamas, as US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin visited Israel on the heels of Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

In New York on Thursday, city authorities cancelled leave and called for police officers to report in uniform for duty on Friday amid rising worries over potential violence against the city’s Jewish and Islamic communities.
