Pelosi's Taiwan visit unnecessary, failed to serve any strategic goal: Political watchers

SINGAPORE - The visit by United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan was unnecessary and did not serve any strategic or foreign policy goal, say political watchers in Singapore.

Eminent historian Wang Gungwu told The Straits Times on Wednesday (Aug 3) that the visit was "not necessary".
