SINGAPORE – It was a routine 39km run in her Sengkang neighbourhood that marathoner Jasmine Goh had done countless times.

But on this occasion in 2022, she struggled and 500m from the finish, she pulled a back muscle. There were a number of factors that led to the injury, but she knew one of them was related to her period.
