Side by side after death – but in Singapore or in my husband’s country, South Korea?

The writer wonders where she would like to spend an eternity – and whether being buried in an alien land is an option.

Where do you want to be buried – in South Korea or Singapore? My teenage daughter asked me this innocuously, right in the middle of a recent visit to a private columbarium to pay respects to my maternal grandparents. 

It has been years since we were able to join in the annual prayers to mark Qing Ming, and after touring the facility, she noticed a trend of departed couples placed side by side in the numerous rows of niches.
