SINGAPORE – Despite being wooed to return to full-time positions in restaurants, some chefs who struck out on their own as hawkers during the pandemic are continuing in the hawker trade.

Mr John Yeo, 45, a former executive sous chef at The Westin Singapore who quit in 2021 to start a hawker stall, was tempted when he received an offer for a hotel executive chef position.
