SYDNEY - On the night of Feb 21, one of Sydney’s landmark movie theatres, the Verona Cinema, a four-screen complex just outside the city centre, will hold its final screenings.

It will be a sorry night for cinemagoers. But it marks an all too familiar development in this city, where ever-rising property prices and changing entertainment habits have caused regular waves of cinema closures.
