For 23 years my friend Pradeep has had a black-and-white artwork of a brilliant Bull on his wall. He bought it in Chicago in 1997 and it's an unsmiling, arresting photo of Michael Jordan with his arms stretched out wide as if he's showing off his sizeable wingspan. It is impossible to look away.
But it's not the poster I am envious of but of the sightings my friend had of Jordan. In The Last Dance, the fine ESPN series on Netflix about the Chicago Bulls of the 1990s, you can see the media, the fans, even Jerry Seinfeld, flock to Jordan, everyone basking in the presence of this levitating man.
