SINGAPORE - Madam Sufiyyah Ithnin's family of seven is reeling from the coronavirus outbreak and economic slowdown.

Her husband, 49, earns about $100 a day helping people to move their furniture, or about $500 a week. In the past few weeks since the coronavirus disease known as Covid-19 surfaced here, the daily-rated worker has seen his income fall by almost half.
